The Sunday Vibes

This week is the special birthday edition!!!!! Nothing super special about it I’m just gonna tell you about what I did on my birthday lol. But I will also be talking lipstick! Party outfits! Unexpectedly good workouts (that almost make you vomit the three glasses of champagne you had the night before)!

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick @ Sephora $20.00

Velvet Matte Lip Pencil Duo 2 Sephora $20.00

I’ve really been getting into dark lips for fall and I wanted to share a few that I found that I love. The first is a Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick. It has some crazy staying power and looks great. I actually bought it kinda by accident when trying to buy like a more burgundy shade, but I actually like this one too so its fine. This shade is Exorcism and here”s what It looks like on me:

( I know my arms is weird  – let me live!!!!!)

Next, I got some more sample size stuff, shocker, and found these gorgeous NARS shades. Technically; they’re just lip liner, but I just use them for the whole lip  – I mean lets not get too particular about it. This is Walkyrie, which is like a deep brown shade that I love:

And this is Dammed, which is more of a purpley burgundy shade:

They both hold up pretty well considering I paid 20 bucks and got two shades! Perf for fall when you want to feel classy.

Velvet High-Low Hem Skirt (wine) @ Forever 21 $19.90

Sheer eyelash Lace Ruffle Trim Crop Top @ Forever 21 $17.90

Qupid Lite 03 Womens Open-Toed Bootie on Amazon $32.95

I had to buy myself a birthday outfit on the fly (cause my nasty gal stuff has been returned to sender and I don’t wanna talk about how sad I was about it). So I went where I belong aka Forever 21. Took me all of an hour to find something I loved and proceeded to never mistrust Forever 21’s powers again. Buyers warning the skirt is not made for sitting as it rises up super far and scandalous when sitting (although maybe that’s the point). Its so cute and soft however and worth the mere 20 bucks I paid. The shirt was sooo hard to find a bra for because it’s literally see-through, but I decided to just do a bralette and throw caution to the wind. You could also make it more family-friendly and put a crop-top came with it as well. The booties I’ve had for literally years but here’s a link to some I really love that are similar and made by the same brand I love. I felt amazing on my birthday night and that’s really all a gal can ask for, right? (although I was dying while walking around outside #worthit).

Kale Available wherever you buy groceries I’m sure

Honey Dijon Vinaigrette Cindy’s Kitchen Whole Foods

Daiya Dairy Free Mozzarella Cheese Amazon or Whole Foods

Nut and Berry Mix Whole Foods

Okay ya’ll are judging me hard core cause as you’ve probably guessed –  that is kale. I am eating kale and now I am promoting the consumption of kale. I went to this pizza restaurant with a friend and she said Oh we have to get the kale salad it’s so good, and i’m like are you crazy? There’s pizza here. But I went with it and wow-e. It was so good. It was just kale with this sweet & sour vinaigrette and some nuts, but I could not stop eating it. So obviously when I went to whole foods the next week I decided to try to recreate it. I just grabbed a nut mix of cranberries, cashews, almonds and other various nuts and then my fave dairy free cheese. For dressing I picked a Dijon Mustard vinaigrette which I figured would be like a health honey mustard which sounded good and I was correct. I picked it up not really worried if it was vegan or gluten-free cause I gotta live when it comes to dressing. But good news – it is!!! and I didn’t even know it!! I really don’t get why people don’t like kale, its basically crunchier lettuce with less of the nasty white part that sucks so its cool in my book.

So I woke up the day after my birthday and after mounds of bread and cheese and 3 glasses of champagne, my body was not ready for this workout. I powered through despite my slight nausea and managed to burn 211 calories! In not even a full 30 minutes! Each set of workouts is strength and cardio. It goes really quick from one workout to the next, so you aren’t sitting there doing squat jumps for 45 seconds and quitting after 30. I’m really starting to love Pop Sugar Fitness so it may be the only workouts featured on my page for a while.

This is so wild, but T-pain is now going around and blessing us with his actual singing voice and like, where was this in 2009? This song is so weirdly beautiful cause some parts he’s singing about being in love with a stripper (classic) but I love it. Sing all the rap songs and make them beautiful T-pain.

So I found another true crime playlist (when will the obsession end?). This one is about a boy who was abducted in 1989, but the case was unsolved for almost 30 years because of police negligence in this specific county. It really makes you question the way our law enforcement runs and if they’re really doing their jobs the way they are supposed to. Also talks about the stuff this poor kid’s parents had to endure like unsolicited phone calls of people telling them they found their son and rude TV people. Crazy cool to listen to. Also if you have any podcast recommendations for me that AREN’T true crime for once, I’d appreciate it lol. Need to step out of the crazy crime world for a bit.

Okay so it is 35 degrees in New York as a HIGH and so guess what? – its Christmas now. Really this is the only thing making the awful chill better and I HIGHLY recommend the pandora station Michael Buble holiday if you love classic Christmas and jazzy Christmas and Michael Buble Christmas. If you don’t love any of those – you must NOT like Christmas, and idk what’s worse. I was listening to this while walking into Grand Central Station and was tearing up a ‘lil bit cause one-year-ago me was dreaming about being here for this season and now I am! Crazy. Although nothing could prepare me for this cold-  it is legit BRUTAL

It was my birthday on Wednesday (how many times will I mention that in one post?), so we got to go to my favorite building in my favorite park! I made reservations like I was turning 32 not 23 and I was EARLY which never happens ever because I live in Brooklyn and the subway is slow. I decided to take our table outside (cause they gave me the option so I thought why not?) and it was magical. I felt very old and classy buying a $64 dollar bottle of champagne but then only ordering an appetizer and dessert, balance is key. It was simple, but I loved it very much and there was a giant smile on face even after I left.

IMG_0371IMG_0373IMG_0374IMG_0420

Friday I got out of the city and went to Tarry town/ Sleepy Hollow. It was FREEZING so we didn’t do much besides eat, but the food was good and the company was great. It was sorta surreal being in like a New England small town. Kinda like I stepped into an 80’s Christmas movie or idk Homeward Bound? It was so cute and every house had those little go-betweens (or whatever the actual crap those things are) where the door to the house has a little tiny area and then you open another door to get in the house. It’s to like keep out the cold and riff raft. I loved it because it looked so different than the small towns I’m used to seeing. In actuality, I’m sure people from New York think places like that are like my Alexandria and Eunice, LA (sorry Dad), aka lame and get me outta here fast. But I liked it a lot and i wish it hadn’t been 20 fricken degrees.

Saturday I went shopping all day and spent 20 bucks on a bagel cause I didn’t wanna walk farther (lol). It was actually really good and supposedly one of the best in the city (Sadelle’s) but still sheesh. So after shopping I got ready for dinner and just kinda hung around. Took an uber which was a nice change and we went to this restaurant called The Loring Place. It was so cute and nice and supposedly a place to go for GNO which is our exact reason for being there. The cranberry Cosmo I had was awesome definitely recommend. Then we went downtown the PHD rooftop and danced our butts off. For the most part I’m more of a sit and drink and have fun person, but sometimes I’m down to dance till 4. All in all a great birthday week and weekend! Thanks to everyone who came 🙂

Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream It Cosmetics @ Sephora $15.00 (small size)

Being totally real guys, I haven’t bought anything from Sephora in like, months. The issue is I spend way more than I want to every single time and so it’s better to never go in there at all. However, I was running out of Tinted Moisturizer and I really needed to stop jamming my brush into the bottle to get the last drop. So I went. I got a new tinted moisturizer since I said I would try to find something that wasn’t mf 45 bucks a bottle which is admittedly insane. Iv’e been hearing really good things about this one, I know its only like 7 dollars cheaper but my brain makes a huge jump from 30 to 40 okay!!!!!!!! And I got the tiny 15 dollar bottle. Anyway, another blogger named Katie (hay) recommended it, it won an Allure award for readers choice and has fab reviews from the Sephora website. So I bought both light and medium, but ultimately went with medium to match my self-tanner (lol).

Heres what both colors looked like on my skin:

Heres before and afters of my skin:

Tbh? Not super impressed. I like it, but its really not very different from what I was already using. The coverage looks to be about the same as NARS and feels about the same. I will say it is cheaper, so definitely worth checking out. I’m not going crazy about it since I still have to use coverup and I also wouldn’t say I’m necessarily using less of it either.

I tried so hard this week to spice up my outfits and failed horribly lol. I really need a full length mirror cause I gotta start checking myself cause I am wrecking myself (self confidence wise). Buuuutttttt, I managed to get it right once this week so of course I documented it. I got so many compliments on my shoes, but I’m gonna be honest. THEY HURT SO BAD. I actually squealed in pain when I took them off at the end of the day. To be fair though, I’ve only worn them one other time. I cent tell if I still have to break them in, or just chuck them and call it a day. I’ll keep you updated. But they really are so cute. Also while looking for these on the Charlotte Russe website I realized they got some cute ass shoes. This top, is like my new favorite. Its shiny and slouchy and love the new sleeve detail trend so so much. Anndddd its on sale!!!

Daiya Vegan and Dairy Free Cheesecake @ Wholefoods

I keep going to whole foods after work, starving, so I keep buying weird snack stuff. This required like 6 hours of defrosting for some reason, but I just left it on my counter for like an hour. Honestly, would recommend. It exactly like a cheesecake like if I didn’t have the box, I wouldn’t know the difference. So if you’re looking for a substitute, definitely recommend!

Mind hunters On Netflix

I started watching this because lately i’ve been obsessed with serial killers (in a totally normal not gonna be the next serial murderer kinda way), mostly because of my favorite murder. I liked the overall concept and it was pretty good, but the end of it was kinda, ehh. I was waiting for some big blow up or like something really crazy to happen and it was just, oh okay that was a little weird. Kinda bummed but I will definitely stay tuned for the next season whenever that will be.

Tear You Apart She Wants Revenge

So I decided to post about this song because Halloween vibezzzzz even though its old. I heard it first when I watched American Horror Story: Hotel (which is the best one don’t fight me on this), and the whole time its playing theres like a super gore-y murder going on but its such a bop. You think the song is actually about murder, but its really just about a dude having s crush on a girl (which tbh is pretty scary).

The Girl Before by J.P Delaney

This book was freakyyyy. Its about two different girls who go through a traumatic event in their lives, and move into this really crazy, high tech, minimal house. One of the girls dies in the house and then the other girl moves in and then all these strange similar things happen to the new girl in the house. I’m explaining it so bad but its good I promise. Plot twists throughout, but like a weird sad ending.

NYC Weekend Adventures™

So this weekend I went to a lot of cool bars!

Friday I finally experienced Mr. Purple, which sounds like some sort of trashy creep zone overtime I say the name of it out loud. It has a pretty awesome rooftop, although one drink is 17 dollars?? Since there’s no bag check, I suggest bringing a flask if you trying to have fun and not go broke. Next, was Beauty and Essex. The font is like a weird music room and then they open the doors to like this dark, staircase room. It just screams classy and sultry. I wish I had taken pictures of it, but also don’t wanna look like a dweeby tourist (I’m sure I’ll be back soon though). Also note the music was awesome, which means I was having fun even though I was kinda sober by then.

OOO I also went and got this baby:

Processed with VSCO with p5 preset

It looked as good as it actually was, no lie. I got the seasonal spice flavor and damn was it good. 10/10 would recommend.

Saturday, we tried to do spooky Halloween bar crawl but the universe was not having it. Every place was having some sort of halloween thing, we needed tickets for which is annoying. One place went to literally said “oh its $175 dollars but it’s open bar and theres a burlesque show and a really awesome DJ” and I was like honey, do you have an idea how much I would need to drink for that to be worth it?? G-bye. So we ended up just going to random bars and looking at all the people in their costumes. We went to this one place called KeyBar and it was pretty cool, but then this british guy who was having an existential crisis kept talking to us. Saying shit like “oh I’m more than my accent” and “you’re getting drunk because you’re trying to forget something.” I literally said to him at one point “Dude its not that deep..” I was over it. Tried to get into another bar that was supposedly laying cool 80s music but,  had a cover which is so dumb this aint Fred’s free drinks I refuse to pay cover with no benefits. Might as well light my money on fire. Finally just settled on a few bars that didn’t feel like we were in the armpit of NYC. I guess this sounds like more of an un-success but I still had fun so whatever.

Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray on Amazon $5.91 (2 OZ)

I used to use this sea salt spray from lush that was, I wanna say $15? And when I asked the girl like “hey will this actually give me wavy hair? Like my hair never does that.” She was like “oh yeah totally.” Of course it didn’t and I’m annoyed that she pretended it would. At the same time, how would she know but still. Don’t advocate for things you don’t believe in sheesh. So I used that for a while and liked it okay but after I ran out, I just never got any more of it. I bought this one cause it has some pretty decent reviews and it smelled really good. I’ve given up on finding anything that makes my stick-straight hair wave, HOWEVER, this stuff makes my hair smell so good. When my hair dries, it dies. Its soon flat and feels thin i don’t know why. But this stuff give it life and not a bunch, but a perfect amount of soft volume.

Nexxus Shampoo Emergencee Conditioner on Amazon $16.97

Okay I got this at CVS for too much money and turns out its half that on Amazon ugh. Anyway, I mostly get this because it smells like, actually candy heaven. I just got these cuutteeeee lil booties the other day at DSW cause I have been dying for tiny heeled booties (also note they are called cayteas lol). These KILLEDDDDD my feet the first time I wore them because I have giant gorilla feet and really needed to break them in, so don’t try to wear them all night the first time you wear them lol. I walk everywhere in New York cause I just love looking around the city (and kinda hate the unpredictable train) so finding good shoes that are cute, don’t hurt my feet and aren’t sneakers is so hard. Tbh after a while even my sneakers start to rub. These are so cute because they have a subtle design, they’re flat and closed toe. I’ve already wore them way too much they are now my go-to shoes.

Heads up!!! PSA!!!!! Pure Barre is doing your first week free ladies!!!! Yeah literally a week of classes for free! I scheduled one every single day next week lol!!! Anyway, I was supposed to do this on Saturday but I was a little tired (and hungover) and rescheduled to Sunday where I vowed to get my life together. Okay so going in she was like, “just a heads up you’re gonna be overwhelmed cause we go super fast just try to listen to me instead of looking other people.” My visual-learner-havin-ass was like oh okay sure. So she was 100% right, it was fast as shit. She said to listen to her, but like most workout classes, they gonna play rave-y EDM music during the entire thing, so I could barely hear her. All in all, however I got a really good workout in. I like the combo of Barre and pilates. My body will most definitely be sore tomorrow (and all of the rest of next week because I signed up for everyday lol).

I’ve been listening to podcasts while at work these days because It calms me and makes the day go faster, I was trying to find one I liked as much as Pod Save America and was failing horribly. Most of the comedy ones were just comedians talking to themselves which is really strange to me or they would just be soo boring that I didn’t wanna listen anymore. I finally started listening to this one and fell in looovvveeeee. I know yawl all probably think I’m a serial killer now, but I promise its so fascinating knowing how these  murders thought, their lives, and how they got to where they are. (okay yeah that sounds weird to be into lol). Listen to one and I swear you’ll believe me,

Un-Success of the Week√

So the only thing I could think of for this was me getting hit(or pushed, nudged?) by a car this week looking at apartments. I’m totally fine btw, but this dude like was not paying attention and like kinda shoved me with his car. I had the right of way cause the little light thing was telling me to go so if I would’ve died I could totally haunt his ass and be justified. I didn’t fall or anything, but obviously my heart came out of my mouth and screamed for dear life like “omg i’ve barely lived plz no!!!” I then proceeded to have, what can only be described as an “adrenaline black out while being awake” and cursed this guy into the next century (i would never do that in my normal life so thats why I say I must have blacked out). Also if you tell this story to your mom, she’ll just say oh my god in a worried tone whereas your friends will laugh hysterically. I will definitely be paying attention more when crossing the street (apparently even crosswalkers need to be on defense who knew).

Although, I have been using it prreeeetttyyyy sparingly. It hasn’t gotten on my clothes and it doesn’t look like I murdered an orange person in the shower. Aaptiv on the App Store $9.99 per month

After waking up with pizza sweats Monday morning (yes that’s a thing, maybe and we’ve all been there- don’t judge me), I decided to try this new app I recently downloaded for running and just training in general. I tried the strength training another day but it was really weird having someone tell you what to do without you seeing them do it, so that part was a fail. Yesterday, I picked a running exercise to do that was about 30 minutes total cause I didn’t wanna do too much on my first try. I also pick an intermediate level exercise because I’m not a beginner when it comes to running, but expert sounds a little too confident for me. I started the thing as the trainer coached me through what I was about to do and I was kinda nervous because she started by saying I was gonna be “cooked” by the end of it. I figured I could handle it since I do cardio a lot. She was right when she said I’d be “cooked.” If anything my ass was overdone. However, I recommend at least the free trial run of the 7 days because I managed to do 2 miles in 11 minutes (my regular time is 9 minutes for 1 mile). Also, my apple watch informed me that on this run I burned the most calories I’ve ever burned while running yay! For some reason it helps me if someone is telling me what to do. (I have great self-discipline, but it can only go so far once I’m winded).

Ryan Hamilton: Happy Face on Netflix

Little known fact about me: I watch stand-up comedians like nobody’s fricken business. I wanna say the first comedian I ever really watched was Louis C.K. when I was in high school. This was before Netflix, so I watched him on YouTube (how I found that I have no clue at all). I must have watched his 2009 stand-up like a million times and it’s still one of my favorites. I also had the pleasure of seeing Aziz Ansari live in Baton Rouge and my cousin, Kristen, and I were basically crying with laughter. Probably one of the reasons I’m so excited about having moved to NYC is getting to see more of them live (Jim Gaffigan I am coming for u September 30th as soon as I get some money and a job). Anyway, I tend to be a little hesitant about watching new comedians (because i’ve seen some real doozies), but this dude was great. I love any comedian that talks about stuff I can relate to, obviously, and he touched on a lot of stuff about NYC people. (For instance when they say “I couldn’t live anywhere else” I died because someone literally said that to me the other day), dating (or lack-there-of) and babies (or lack-there-of). Highly recommend watching!

Un-success of the week√

So this isn’t necessarily a thing that failed me, but myself that failed, or maybe Rite Aid, I haven’t decided. I know from coming to NYC last year, that Target is a luxury that is not afforded to me anymore. (Today I did discover one in Brooklyn, but sadly it is like 45 minutes away by subway). I thought my AirBnb was SUPPOSED to give me towels for my showering use; however, that was not the case. September 6th was a very rainy day and I really needed to shower and get the airplane stink off of me so I trekked to the Rite Aid in hopes of finding towels. Rite Aid let me down. They didn’t even have my dry shampoo. I was at a loss. I then proceeded to go into another random grocery store and look again to no avail. My last-ditch attempt was a 99 cent store, which I assumed was like a Dollar General where I come from and the Lord blessed me and I found towels! I should have known, of course, that the dollar store would never let me down. I shall never doubt its powers again!

SheaMoisture® African Black Soap Clarifying Mud Mask @ Target $2.24

I don’t know about you guys, but over the years I’ve heard a lot about African Black Soap and the magic it possesses when it comes to problem skin. I probably should’ve checked it out when I got a horrible stint of acne in my last year of high school, but the thought of my skin getting worse would’ve been too much to handle. I got this at Target cause it was right next to my faves Que Bella. I wouldn’t consider my skin “acne prone” anymore since Acutane, but I do still have the remains of what used to be awful skin that I wouldn’t mind some help in clearing up. I can’t say if it has any amazing powers (since I only just used it), but definitely smells good and made my skin uber soft.

Maybelline® Lash Sensational Mascara(Waterproof) @ Target $6.99

When buying mascara at Target, one needs to stay on her toes and READ LABELS. I, did not, and it resulted in a wonderful mistake when I bought waterproof mascara. This stuff is amazing! My lashes stay up all day with no clumps! This is an especially amazing feat because my lashes are straight as they come.Yes, it can be slightly annoying to get off, but I just use some coco butter and its G-O-N-E. This song feeds into my love for bops that have weird lyrics and I love this one. It came on at work once and I “upped” it on our Pandora so you know its good (and now it plays all the time to my delight and fear cause I’m gonna get sick of it). Definitely worth a listen if you like 80s stuff.

Clarisonic Facial Brush @ Clarisonic.com $169

I have been using this brush for like 8???? years I think and I swear nothing gets makeup off better or makes my face feel cleaner. When I don’t have it while traveling I freak out and wash my face twice lol. You gotta replace the brush every month (honestly who really does that cause not my ass), but I’ve never had to replace it! Super good investment.

Un-success of the week√

ALRIGHT I am about to just give up on self-tanners and let myself be ugly and pale cause these are annoying me. This thing is like a clear mist that goes on clear so you have no idea where you be puttin it, which is horrible. Then it’s like No need to rub it in!!! I’m like sweet! less work! well look at my fricken hand!!! and those weird circles are on my legs too just fyi. so yeah definitely gonna rub this crap in. Something I will say about it is it doesn’t come off on my stuff and doesn’t just wash off in the shower. So yeah. Being pale is hard.

Beauty¡

Bioré Deep Charcoal Cleanser @ Target $5.99

Got this on a whim not too long ago and prayed fiercely that it wouldn’t ruin my skin and praise! It makes me skin feel super refreshed and so so soft. I definitely feel like its way less harsh than the product I was using before and my skin looks brighter for sure. Its a win-win, honestly.

Revlon Color Stay Liquid Liner @ Target $5.99

I love almost every liquid liner ever because, hello, liquid liner is the only way to go, but this one is probably my favorite. Maybe because I’m partial to Revlon products? (peep my lipstick in this pic and on my first post) At any rate, I love doing winged eyeliner and my secret is putting tape on the sides of my eyes to make it extra pointy!

Super Skinny High Jeggings Blue/Black H&M $12.99

There’s nothing better than high-waisted jeans. The higher the better honestly, and these are suppeerrrr high.  I’ll probably never go back to low rise jeans with that awful major muffin top #momjeansforever. I love these because they’re stretchy, but hold their shape throughout the day and make my legs look skinny and crazy long. Best part? They’re on sale now!!! Cheap and amazing!!!

I was totally gonna post a picture of the one I ate last night, but it was very unappealing hah. So here’s just a picture of the box:)))))) I love these things, they don’t taste weird or “fake” and have a pretty good amount of protein! Which I need since I’m trying to be more vegan-friendly. (note the word trying) I usually pair this with my fave, sriracha, some jalapeño and some avocado! So spicy and so good~~~

Fitness¡¿

So this girl is #goals. She’s basically built an empire from pilates and started her own workout clothing line, just from youtube! One of my absolute favorites of hers (I’ve done so very many of her videos), is her Plie Squat Challenge video. Definitely a killer leg workout and not super long, cause there’s nothing that bores me more than just rolling around on the floor for 40 minutes. Her videos are definitely worth checking out since all of them are done in real time, and usually no more than 15 minutes!

Entertainment¡

Big Little Lies On HBO

I read this book forever ago, as Liane Moriarty is one of my absolute favorite writers (so go read the book obvi), and I was finally able to watch the show! (shoutout to my mom for letting me use her HBO go hey mom). It’s basically like watching a 7 hour movie based on one of my favorite books, which is every book-nerds wet dream tbh. I loved Reese Witherspoon and how she really brought Madeline to life! A must watch ladies, especially since its up for a bunch of emmys so you know its good.

Pod Save America on Spotify

I’m not really one for podcasts, eve though people usually say they’re great for running, I find I really need music for that. I felt since I hadn’t been keeping up with the world around me recently, I should give these guys a try (they were featured on the Chelsea Handler show) and I’m glad I did! Keep in mind they’re very biased, but they really know the inner workings of politics since they have all worked with the Obama Administration. If you lean towards the left, as I do, then they’re worth a listen.

Nike Free RN Flyknit @ Nike.com

I started running my junior year of college after some tough stuff got me down and have been (mostly) doing it ever since. In no way shape or form do I consider myself a runner by any means, but I do it whenever I have the energy and I feel like it’s a great way to get in some quick cardio without a machine. However, my old Nikes did not appreciate my running habits and the backs of them tore up in a matter of a few months. In comes free-runs to save the day! I love these because they’re so stylish and they have a sock-like feel so that they won’t bust up in the back when you run! A spurge for sure, but add it to your Christmas list, as I did.

Un-sucess of the week√

I was running out of my normal self-tanner recently and I also felt like the one I was using was maybe drying out my skin a little too much so I thought Why not try this lotion one? since the one I was using was more of a mousse. Wronnnggggggggggg!!!! This stuff bleeds onto my jeans and my sheets every time I put it on. I like the way it looks when I first use it, and then I just look white again after a few days (it’s supposed to last 7 days after 4 applications). I love u Sally Hansen, but you let me down this time.

Carli Bybel Deluxe Edition @ bh Cosmetics $22.50

Okay so I found this God sent highlighter palette literally just looking at a random beauty bloggers Instagram and I was like zaaammmmnnnn. Then I saw the price and I was like ZAMMMMMMMMMNNNNNN!!!!!! (just so ya’ll know I looked for it on Amazon and its double the price bye). It took me a while to get on the highlighter bandwagon because I always felt too shiny and overdone, but ya girl is on the wagon now. Beep beep look at that highlight¡¡¡ okay I’m done.

Tassel Earrings  on Etsy $9.99

Tassel earrings have been a growing trend lately and, as with most trends and with me cause I’m stubborn, I was hesitant. But after wearing them for a day I’m pretty much in love. The ones I’m wearing are some we have in the boutique where I work. They run around 24 bucks BUT!! I found them for 10 BUCKS on Etsy!!! And they have a crap ton of great colors and mis-matched colors. I also found these more circular ones that are super cute for only 15! Bargains on Bargains

Cuffed Distressed Denim Shorts @ Forever 21 $19.90

Canvas Plimsolls @ Forever 21 $10.90

Layered Beaded Chocker @ Forever 21 $10.90

I was on Instagram the other day, just like going through my explore page, and I saw this suuuppeerrr classy outfit from this random girl that I really wanted to copy (as seen above). Her outfit also included a white blazer (which I didn’t have at the time) but I love this outfit so so much as a cute casual outfit that steps up your style game without looking too fancy (imo). No idea how much her’s cost but lucky for you guys!!! Mine is super cheap! My shirt is from Shein (which I know is a weird site that can kinda be a hit or miss with clothes but they have reviews and mine just happened to work out), but unfortunately they don’t have my exact shirt anymore so here’s another really cute one that could work. My shorts and shoes are Forever 21 and adding a statement necklace really brings the whole thing together (I’m linking this one, but the one in the picture is just borrowed from work, hah). This entire outfit is a grand total of a little over 50 bucks, which in my humble opinion is pretty fricken good considering just shoes can cost that much.

Oblique Killer Workout Rebecca Louise on Youtube

I branched out a little bit this week and tried another new video and it was a success! I have tried a few of her videos before, but this one realllly killed my obliques and for some reason this week I was really trying to kill my abs. I definitely recommend using her videos although her newer ones seem to work better for me. Apparently I like the Aussies since my last post was featuring and Australian too??? They know their fitness what can I say.

Friends From College on Netflix

I know we’re all shocked I’m watching wayyyyyy too much Netflix these days. But anyway, I was kinda on the fence about this show at first cause #cantrelate to 40 year old struggles. Its about them all getting back together after moving away after college and its a huge mess of course. The scene that sold me though, is the one where Max doesn’t pay attention in any of the meetings at his office for like 6 months and its pretty fricken funny (spoiler alert?). Honestly Fred Savage (Max) and Jae Suh Park (Marriane) make this whole show (which helps the fact that the girl who played Robin in the God awful show “How I Met Your Mother” is in it and she’s as annoying as ever).

Girls In White Dresses on Amazon $5.99

This book I really liked because it’s all about the confusing crap I’m going through right now as a 20-something. From awkward baby showers (cause you have no babies) to figuring out what to do in a job you hate but also have no idea what you should do instead (aka me sorta).

Things to Love This Week

Beauty¡

Que Bella® Masks @ Target $1.99

So I found these gems one day looking at the bubble bath section of Target one day. I figured I’d just try a couple cause they were super cheap and I also felt boujee  special cause I was taking french and knew what que bella meant. I’m picturing these two because these are the ones I just got, but my favorites are the Aloe Vera Deep Cleansing Mask and the Cherry Apricot Exfoliator Cleanser .

Revlon® Ultra HD Matte Lip Color  @ Target $7.19

I actually have two of these, this one being a more nude color and this super vibrant red! They both have some awesome staying power, so cheap and easy to use. These are great for people like me who only really wear lipstick if they’re trying to be super •Extra• going out, but also are not gonna remember to keep checking it cause it holds up all night  (sans kissing tho;) ).

Neck Scarf @ Target $5.99

I was hesitant about this whole tiny neck scarf revival trend (as I am with all weird trends *cough* tassels), but I really liked putting this one in my hair for a pop of color that matched my lips. Maybe Ill try one on my actual neck next time?? Here’s one I thought was cute from Target since the one I’m wearing I just cut out of an actual scarf whoops.

Sriracha Sauce @ Target $2.99

*Technically* got this at the Dollar Store after I forgot to grab it at Target, which is typical, but I don’t even think they have a website and no clue how much it even was there (1 dollar????).  Anyway, this bottle will probably last me forever because I can only put 3 drops total on anything I eat, but it’s so good. Even with just 3 drops you can still really taste it. Here’s a link for the good stuff.

Flaxseeds @ Target $2.69

Okay I know it’s weird that I even included these cause they taste like literally nothing with a crunch, but¡¡¡¡¡¡ that’s the beauty of these babies, ya’ll. I put these in my oatmeal (like maybe a tablespoon) and I really feel a difference in my digestion. If you ever feel bloated and gross after a pizza weekend, I suggest this to *ahem* clean you out  *ahem* and restart ya health for the week.

Sarahs Day on Youtube Frrreeeeeeeeee

I’m always trying to do different stuff with my workouts because I get bored easily, which means I get less motivated to do anything. I found Sarah’s Day as a suggestion from Youtube of junk I might like. I love love love her three 15 minute videos where she does the full workout with you in real time. I wish she had more of them, but unfortunately she mostly just shows you what she does in a gym in her other videos. I mostly prefer when someone does the workout in real time rather than just saying “do this 3 times for 30 seconds!” because usually I just do it twice and get bored. Some of the other videos say stuff like “do this video 4 more times!” and after the second time I’m like “oh no girl, bye I’m sick of this.” So in other words, I love when a video is a real workout in real time because I’m wayyyy less likely to stop a video in the middle. Here’s my favorite one of her 15 minute videos!

Entertainment¡

The Kept Woman Karin Slaughter on Amazon $15.17 (Paperback)

I just finished this book and wow. Not quiet as twisted as her Pretty Girls: A Novel, but still on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what the heck is going on. This one focuses on Will Trent, a detective for the Atlanta PD and his crazy relationship with ex-cop and crazy woman Angela Polanski. All the twists and turns definitely kept me going, which means I finished it in about one day. Then I came to realize I had skipped the entire Will Trent series and just read the ending without realizing it (ha who let me do this), I really didn’t have to have any prior info about the characters to understand the novel thank God.

Sweat by The All-American Rejects

Is it 8th grade again? 2009?? Nope, but The All-American Rejects came out with another banger anyway. This song definitely takes me back to my angsty middle school alternative rock days (cause who wasn’t angsty at 13 for no reason?). Just listen to feel the nostalgia

Once Upon A Time on ABC

I started watching this show the second it came out and love loved it. It’s all about this woman who is found by her son she gave up for adoption, who tries to convince her she’s the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming. Sounds kinda off the wall, but as a child of fairy-tales and Harry Potter, I loved it. After a while they started introducing Elsa and Anna from frozen and I did a huge *eye roll* and stopped watching. But seriously, the first few seasons are great, but after that ehhh.

NARS The Multiple @ Sephora $39.99

So holy heck I didn’t know this thing was this expensive until I looked it up, sheesh. I got this on a whim/ Sehpora haul and didn’t think anything of it. This is why I always get up to the register and have to suppress my cringe face every time they read me my total. When I first got this I hated it. I couldn’t figure out how to make it go where it wanted it to go and I’d end up just rubbing it off. I finally just put it in a spot and left it and realized I actually loved it highlighter look of it. Definitely a splurge, but should last a while since the stick is huge and I only use a couple swipes.

Un-success of the week√

Love Sweat Fitness on YouTube

As I said before, I love trying new things when I workout. Something I started doing a few months ago, sort of as a revamping of my health and fitness, was Barre classes. At the time, the studio I was going to was fairly new, so they had free classes a lot. I couldn’t keep paying for the classes (the monthly fee was like 100 bucks) so I had to find other alternatives. When I saw Love Sweat Fitness’s Lower Abs Barre Bootcamp , I was like awesome I love barre! Unfortunately this was a super-easy beginners workout that basically did nothing for my abs (which are pretty strong I might add). That’s not to say all of her workouts are like this, I will definitely be trying them again! This one was a definite miss.
